Send photos. Get the verdict.
No forms, no account, no cost. Message us clear photos of the front and back of your card, and a Young Gunz Sports assessment — built on nearly three decades of collecting and daily work in the graded-card market — comes back to you within 2 business days.
A likely grade range
The grade your card would most likely receive from a major grading company, judged from its centering, corners, edges and surface — and the one flaw that would hold it back, if there is one.
Comps & market value
What your card is worth — and what it could realistically sell for. Built on recent comparable sales, raw and graded, not last year’s price guides.
A worth-grading verdict
A straight yes or no: whether the likely grade justifies the grading fee and the wait, or whether your card is better kept raw, sold as-is, or held. No upsell — if grading doesn’t pay, we say so.
Four shots, two minutes.
Good photos make the difference between a guess and an assessment. Here is exactly what to send:
- Front and back, straight onFill the frame with the card, one photo of each side, in focus, no angle.
- Bright, even light — no flash glareDaylight or a bright room. Glare hides surface flaws, and surface is where grades are lost.
- Out of the sleeve, if you can do it safelyA penny sleeve is fine; thick holders and plastic glare make honest assessment harder. Never force a card out of anything.
- Tell us what you knowYear, set and player if you have them — and whether the card is already graded or raw. Multiple cards? Send them one at a time.
The full written assessment.
Selling, insuring, or deciding on a high-value grading submission? The full assessment is the professional version of the first look — a written report you can act on, keep with the card, or show a buyer.
Every full assessment includes:
Grade estimate breakdown — centering, corners, edges and surface scored individually, with the exact defects that cap the grade and what each point of grade is worth. Market analysis — recent comparable sales, population context, and the graded-vs-raw value gap. A clear recommendation — grade it, hold it, or sell it raw, and why.
The full written assessment is a paid service; the fee is confirmed with you before any work begins — no surprises, and the free first look is always free either way.
Assessed it. Now sell it — or sell it to us.
An assessment tells you what you have. What happens next is your call — and we can handle either side of it.
Sell it through Young Gunz
List your card through our storefront and channels — professional presentation, our audience, tracked shipping handled. Ask us after your assessment.
We buy cards
Young Gunz buys singles and bulk collections. After an assessment, we can make you an offer — one card or the whole box. No pressure either way.
Before you ask.
Is the first look really free?
Yes. Send photos, get a grade range, a market value and a grading verdict — no charge and no obligation. It is how collectors across Canada have found us for years; now it is a proper service.
How fast will I hear back?
Within 2 business days for the free first look. Full written assessments are scheduled when the fee is confirmed, and we give you the date up front.
Is this a guaranteed grade or appraisal?
No — and anyone who guarantees a grade from photos isn’t being straight with you. This is an expert assessment based on the photos you send and the current market. Final grades are decided by the grading companies, and a card in hand can always reveal more than a photo can.
Which cards do you assess?
Hockey is home turf — Young Guns, graded rookies and vintage — and we assess baseball, basketball, football and other sports cards as well. One card or a whole collection.
Can you grade or sell the card for me?
We can point you to the right grading route and timeline. To sell, list it through our storefront — or sell it to us directly: we buy singles and bulk collections, and after an assessment we can make you an offer. Start with the free look and we will lay out your options.
